Elegant Valentine’s Day chocolate covered strawberries with a glossy finish—simple to make, beautiful to gift, and rich in flavor with customizable toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound fresh strawberries (20–24 berries), stems intact

8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate (60–70% cacao), chopped

4 ounces white chocolate, melted (optional, for drizzling)

2 tablespoons coconut oil, divided

Assorted toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, coconut flakes, edible gold dust

Instructions

1. Wash strawberries gently and pat completely dry; allow to air dry if time permits.

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set out toppings in small bowls.

3. Melt dark chocolate with 1 tablespoon coconut oil in 30-second microwave intervals, stirring until smooth.

4. Hold strawberries by the stem and dip into chocolate, rotating to coat evenly and tapping off excess.

5. Place dipped strawberries on parchment and immediately add toppings or drizzle with white chocolate.

6. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until chocolate is fully set.

Notes

Moisture will prevent chocolate from sticking, so ensure strawberries are completely dry.

Milk, ruby, or vegan chocolate can be substituted for dark chocolate.

Freeze-dried strawberry powder can be mixed with white chocolate for a pink Valentine’s coating.
